Just In Time

I watched a video today, Just in time (8) from the Lean Manufacturing Basic Concepts series. It talks about JIT being one of the two pillars of the Toyota Production System. Toyota is a very lean and efficient company one can learn a lot from studying their production capabilities. JIT is one of the tools that Toyota uses to be very efficient, it allows them to get what they need when they need it in the amount that they need at each workstation. JIT allows for the production line to flow smoothly while helping reduce waste and saving space by not having an excessive amount of inventory. JIT is a very valuable tool to implement into a lean thinking company. Check out the video for additional information.
